FAQ - Print Sales

  • Limited Edition Quantities & Numbering

The store items are limited edition artworks, printed to order.

Each motif print series has a limited total edition quantity for each size/format. You can see detailed information about the editions on the product pages.

When a print from an edition is sold (via this website, an art fair, gallery or other platform) the available edition quantity is reduced by 1.

Please note that the edition quantity shown in the drop-down selector/page description is the total edition quantity - not the available edition quantity. For example, the total edition quantity may be 25, but the available edition quantity may be 6, because 19 prints have already been sold in that edition.

When you receive your CoA, it will show both the edition number and the total edition quantity. For example 19/25, would show that you collected the 19th Print in the total edition of 25.

Once the prints sell out in each limited edition, they will not be available again!

If you would like to know how many prints are available/remaining in a specific limited edition, please contact me on art@peteedmunds.com

    Edition Pricing

Sometimes the price of the available prints in an edition will rise gradually as prints in the edition series are sold. In this situation, early collectors will benefit from lower prices.

Larger print sizes are often made with smaller total edition quantities and, as such, these editions command higher prices.

  • Print Sizes

I recognise that collectors have a wide variety of budgets and display areas, so my artwork is made available in various sizes and printing/mounting/framing options. However, edition quantities are strictly limited for each print size.

    Print Materials

The print materials are always described on the product page. For example:-

Paper: Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 g/m². 100% cotton. Matte.

Printing: Giclee. Epson UltraChrome Pro pigments. 6 colours and 3 shades of black. Resolution 1,440 dpi

    Printing Formats

If the motif is available in more than one format, such as a Giclee Fine Art Print on Cotton Paper, a Framed Print and a Reverse Acrylic Mounted Print - then this will be indicated in the drop-down selector at the top of the Product page - and also in the page description. In the above example, the drop-down selector might show:-

    Paper - Small (Edition of 15 + 1AP) 60 x 40 cm

    Framed - Medium (Edition of 10 + 1AP) 90 x 60 cm

    Acrylic Glass Dibond - Large (Edition of 5 + 1AP ) 120 x 80 cm

    Variant Images

When you choose your preferred print size/format/materials from the drop-down selector, the gallery may simultaneously show an associated image for that product variant. For example, the associated variant image might show one of the following:-

The print with border in a room view

    The frame colour

A cross section view of the mounted product showing the layered materials used

  • A certificate of authenticity is included with each limited edition print, containing details about the artwork for the collector's reference. The certificate is signed by the artist. A tamperproof holographic label with a serial number appears on the certificate and a matching holographic label and serial number is fixed to the back of the print/frame by the collector. A label example is shown on the store pages.

Artwork is not signed on the front/front border for two reasons; Firstly, it can look unsightly and pull attention away from the art itself. Secondly, some artworks are Acrylic Face Mounted and signing on the front is impossible.

For these reasons all my artwork is guaranteed authentic by the combination of the tamperproof serial-numbered holographic sticker on the back and the matching serial-numbered COA with signature.

To keep shipping costs low and speed up delivery, the Certificate of Authenticity and two holographic labels are sent separately from the UK after your artwork arrives.

Once your artwork has arrived safely, simply email art@peteedmunds.com with your order reference to receive your certificate.

  • Artist proofs are sometimes made to assess manufacturing print quality or for exhibition purposes and can be slightly different from the Limited Edition Prints. An AP print may become available for sale at a later date.

Artist Proofs are highly exclusive - typically a maximum of 3 per motif - and not every edition includes them. If AP's are created, they will be clearly marked from the outset (e.g. Edition of 10 + 1AP).

Artist Proofs are considered part of the artwork’s total production history but are not included within the numbered edition sequence.

  • The following policies apply to all orders of limited-edition artworks.

    1. Bespoke/Custom-Made Artworks

All limited edition artworks are printed to order and are deemed bespoke/custom-made items. As such, once the printing production process has started at the lab in Germany, a refund is no longer possible. These are considered Final Sale items and qualify for a refund under UK law only if the item is faulty.

    2. Cancellation & Refunds

The production process begins two hours after payment. During this two-hour window, you may cancel your order and receive a full refund. Once this grace period has elapsed, production will have started and cancellation is no longer possible.

    3. Replacement of Faulty Items

Artworks are checked by hand, protected in art-secure packaging, and delivered by professional carriers such as TNT, FedEx, DHL, UPS, and DPD.

In the rare event that your artwork arrives damaged, please email **art@peteedmunds.com** as soon as possible, attaching clear photographs of the damaged packaging and artwork, along with your order number.

We will gladly replace the item free of charge, including shipping. Customer satisfaction is paramount.

Once you receive your replacement, we ask that you destroy the faulty item and send photographic evidence of its destruction. This is vital to preserve the integrity of the limited edition for you and other collectors.
